BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

Psychosis™ was founded by Michael Griffey II and Rev. Roach in early 2000 with the intentions of recording only. When it was determined that it was possible to play in clubs locally, with the advent of such clubs as Tazzma's Rock-o-Rama, which allows bands to play original music, instead of most bars which require a repertoire of cover songs to support the event, Griffey decided to bring his odd style to live audiences.
Heavily influenced by King Diamond, Iron Maiden, Frank Zappa and Jim Morrison, Griffey's vocal style is reminiscent of early 80's metal styles, and his lyrics take you into the mind of a man who is obviously insane. After solidifying their presence in the Lafayette area, Psychosis™ has increased their musical style from the simple three chord songs of the day, to more complex arrangements, which are complemented by the air of darkness that a Psychosis™ event entails. Jeff Hill & Eli Flynn have brought to fruition many of Griffey's complex ideas, most of which are as old as Griffey himself... Utilizing the basic rhythms, with a taste of complex leads, and an original vocal presence is the crux of what Psychosis™ is and will be in the future.
Never being happy with the status quo, or their place in the music world, is what will propel this gang into the musical history books.
