I want to take this moment really quickly to thank all the members of King Diamond for being so helpful, and a big "THANK YOU!" goes to Sully, the t-shirt guy...your help was far beyond the call of duty. And I can't say enough thanks to King, and the other members of the band for taking a few moments to have their picture taken with me...the memory will last an eternity! Last, but not least, John Raines and the Security Team of "House of Blues-Chicago", for their help and permission to photograph at their venue, and even going beyond the call of duty to help me when things got flaky.
Thanks also go to Olivier Delobel, Kurt Jurgens and everyone else who has contributed to this site!
REVIEW 7/2/2000:
I have bought and listened to the new CD "House of God", and it is
definitely one of the best King Diamond albums I have ever heard! I haven't heard such powerful music since "Abigail", and I am definitely glad to hear that King has not, nor ever will sell out. The album begins eerily enough, and
starts out powerfully...and the end is a true masterpiece! "This Place Is Terrible" (the next to last song) just totally blew my mind since it broke a lot of my assumptions of how the story was going to end! I definitely recommend
going out right now and buying this CD either to add to your collection, or as a new listener. King Diamond's vocals are a masterpiece, with him incorporating some interesting vocal layers. I was listening to "Passage To Hell", and
I REALLY liked the intonation. The title track "House of God" excited me as much as the first time I listened to "Black Horsemen".
BACK TO KING!
