Well, a great night is often not realized until it's over...
This night was a momentous ocassion of meeting new people, new contacts, and hopefully some new fans...
Randall Flagg and Mick Holmes of PUZZLE OF FLESH made an appearance to witness the insanity of the evening, and we were pleased to note that they enjoyed themselves.
KICKPLATE began the evening, and left promptly after our first song...hey, at least they stayed longer than the last show (August 23rd), when they left right after their set.
YOUR MOM, a funky kinda Beastie Boys band, took the stage left...and were definitely an interesting mix of music to say the least. We were entertained....
TEENAGE SUICIDE then took stage right, and I was impressed with their Ministry/NIN sound...I've always been a big fan of Ministry old and new, so this was a real treat.
YETI & IMPULSE didn't bother to show up, so THE GENDER BENDERS took the stage with their cross-dressing stage presence. Their fans were definitely there in force, as they played for an hour to the delight of the crowd mobbing the stage.
Then....silence overtook the room as we took the stage...an eerie silence like that before a tornado rips through the area. Taking care of a few problems, we began with a brand new song that I had just taught Eli the day before..."Color of Nothing" went off without any problems, obviously shaking the audience emotionally as we played what will probably, in my opinion, be one of our best songs.
Then, we went through the rest of the set, where things went perfectly until the last half of our set with "Out In The Cold"...there were problems with feedback that couldn't be resolved beforehand, and everyone got out of time with each other..."So Much Blood" had the same problems, but came off well...We got great crowd reaction to our last two songs, "Garbage Days Revisited" and our show-closer, "Another Side of Me". Then, Eli and Anthony closed out the night with their opus instrumental, "Pressure In My Head". A great night, with a great closing...thanks to all the new fans that we made that night (you know who you are!), and thanks to PUZZLE OF FLESH for taking the pictures for this diary!
